_1362 Twechar Primary School "Twechar School was oppened in 1888-89 by Kirkintilloch (Landward) School Board. Over the years it has been enlarged and expanded. Between 1937 and 1966 it provided secondary as well as primary education. An interesting feature can be seen at the former achool house next door, where the ironwork of the gates includes symbols descriptive of the various subjects taught at the school."
