_1506 Augustine United Church "<p>Augustine is a diverse, progressive Christian congregation of the United Reformed Church, with a rich history of global connections. Our four-storey building rises up from the Cowgate towards an elaborate tower that earned the church the nickname of \u201cthe bridecake\u201d when it was opened in 1861.<\/p><p>Our permanent exhibition shares a story that began in one of the city\u2019s most deprived areas and reflects our roots in the \u2018Radical\u2019 Scottish Reformation.
