Historic Environment Scotland's Engine Shed at Forthside
"<p>The Engine Shed was once a military goods and transfers shed. It was\u00a0built sometime between 1896 and 1913 but the exact details of its\u00a0construction were subject to an information blackout and are still\u00a0unknown today.\u00a0Historic Environment Scotland undertook extensive restoration of the\u00a0building and its doors opened in 2017. The Engine Shed in Stirling is\u00a0now Scotland\u2019s dedicated building conservation centre and serves as a\u00a0central hub for building & conservation professionals and the general\u00a0public.<\/p>\n<p>The Engine Shed is a vital learning and visitor resource to help encourage a greater understanding of traditional building materials\u00a0& skills, which are in short supply, and to inspire future generations to\u00a0continue to care for the finite and unique resource that is Scotland\u2019s\u00a0built heritage.<\/p>\n<p>Come and take a free guided tour of Scotland\u2019s dedicated building\u00a0conservation centre, learn about our building including how it was\u00a0constructed by using traditional materials in a contemporary way and\u00a0how many other traditional materials have been able to be recycled or\u00a0restored during the restoration.<\/p>\n<p>Booking essential Tours are by\u00a0arrangement only, to book your place\u00a0please go to https:\/\/www.engineshed.\u00a0scot\/whats-on\/<\/p>\n<p>Disabled access - There are two accessible parking bays for blue badge\u00a0holders located on the street at the front\u00a0of the building adjacent to the spikey\u00a0bridge stairs.<\/p>\n<p>Doors Open<\/p>"
