X - The Vine: Gin Tasting

Dublin Core

Title

X - The Vine: Gin Tasting

Description

Gin tasting event featuring the fabulous Dundee Gin. A distinctive architectural gem built in 1836 in a late Georgian style with Greek and Egyptian design elements. On the RCAHMS Threatened Buildings Survey in 2009 it has been handsomely restored to its former glory. This curious house was built by George Duncan MP in memory of his late wife, Hester Eliza Wheeler, whose childhood home was The Vyne in Hampshire. He intended it to show off his extensive collection of paintings and objects of which he bequeathed to the city.
