Balmore Water Treatment Plant is the largest treatment plant in Scotland. Opened as recently as 7th July 2000 by HRH The Duke of York, Balmore treats water from Loch Lomond for supply to parts of North Lanarkshire, the Falkirk and Grangemouth area, and West Lothian.
