Milngavie Railway Walk
Dublin Core
Title
Milngavie Railway Walk
Description
The guided walk will examine how the station developed from a much smaller building, which survives in its core, to accommodate the extensive commuter traffic that developed from the 1890s onwards. The walk will also examine the location of former goods facilities that no longer survive, including the Ellangowan Paper Mill branch; also the close proximity of early commuter dwellings.
Guide leader: Donald Shankland.
