The Aldessan Gallery was formerly the Crown Inn, rebuilt from an earlier structure in 1818, and extremely popular with visitors to the Glen throughout the remainder of 19C. With changing attitudes and customs, however, in 1922 the Inn underwent quite dramatic changeand became the genteel Red Tub Tearooms, equally popular in their day, although surviving for less than two decades. In 1988 the building assumed its present identity, as a tearoom and craft shop.
