Bourock Parish Church

Dublin Core

Title

Bourock Parish Church

Description

Bourock Parish Church, which is the “daughter church” of Neilston Parish Church, was constructed in 1840 to meet the needs of the growing population employed in the Barrhead textile industry. The hall below the church took advantage of the sloping ground on the north side and housed Bourock School until 1876 when the Government assumed the educational role formerly delegated to the parish.
