Simpson & Brown Architects have designed an innovative, low energy house in Currie that is superinsulated, air-tight and incorporates a mix of renewables. It is compact to minimise heat loss. A heat recovery system circulates heat generated by the occupants' cooking, showering ect. Lifetime standards were adopted to allow for future adaptation with regard to accessibility.
