The Lauriston Building, 1981 by Robert Matthew, Johnson-Marshall was first phase of the intended redevelopment of the Royal Infirmary. In 1997 the Dental Hospital moved here from Chambers Street. Redevelopment by Lewis & Hickey DJP includes specially commissioned works of art: fibre optic constellations in the ceiling above each dental chair; a camera obscura in the patient waiting room; other pieces on walls, floor coverings and light boxes.
