Holyrood Abbey Church of Scotland

Dublin Core

Title

Holyrood Abbey Church of Scotland

Description

Holyrood Abbey Church of Scotland has its roots in two nineteenth-century missions begun in the Canongate area of Edinburgh by the Free Church and the United Presbyterian Church respectively, though they later rejoined the Church of Scotland. The foundation stone of the present building was laid on 30 September 1899,
and the church was opened on 22 December 1900. The 2007 refurbishment project under Malcolm Fraser Architects created a breathtaking view of Arthurs Seat from the new Church Halls.
