The Alford Heritage Centre is housed in the last of the original? Marts (or Auction) buildings to survive in the North East of Scotland. Marts used to exist in and around all centres of agricultural activity throughout the North East and served as the focus of many rural communities. The Alford Heritage Centre is now a visitor centre and museum ? comprising a collection of domestic, agricultural and rural exhibits of regional importance.
