Rudolf Steiner Kindergarten

Dublin Core

Title

Rudolf Steiner Kindergarten

Description

The kindergarten of the Rudolf Steiner School puts the principles of the school into practice. Designed by Wilfried Bohm of Benjamin Tindall Architects in 1991, the layout has the child at its heart. It is intended to inspire creativity through its distinctive 'mother hen' appearance, its use of organic materials and its novel arrangement of space. The large roof covers four asymmetric and polygonal classrooms fulfilling Rudolf Steiner's ideal of space as magical and full of wonder as a fairy tale. A 'green' building, only sustainable materials and organic paint was used in its construction. Enter from Spylaw Road or Polwarth Terrace.
