St Columba's by the Castle

Dublin Core

Title

St Columba's by the Castle

Description

This Victorian Church, sitting just below the Castle, is a small gem. Visitors often remark upon the stained glass windows which, unusually, feature several female figures. There is a large mural of Christ in Glory painted by the renowned Wildlife artist John Busby and a tapestry by Millie Donaldson.

This year, the interior has been refurbished including the fitting of underfloor heating, a new oak floor and improvements to the East end. The new lighting now illuminates more clearly the interior features.
