St James Church, Goldenacre
Dublin Core
Title
St James Church, Goldenacre
Description
A gothic red sandstone Episcopal church designed by Robert Rowand Anderson in the 1880s. Although simple from the outside, the chancel designed by John Burnett is glorious, with stunning frescos and a triptych painted by William Hole. The theme is the Te Deum, with the words written around the chancel and continuing into the south aisle. Above this are thirty life size figures depicted in procession leading to the altar, higher still are archangels, evangelists and the company of heaven.
