Title
St Mary's Cathedral Song School
Description
The Song School, adjacent to St Mary?s Cathedral, is where the Cathedral choristers practice. The Song School walls are covered with murals by Phoebe Traquair (1852-1936), painted between 1888 and 1892. The murals include religious images, portraits of leading figures of the day and of the choir and clergy of the time, and images of the natural world. St Mary?s Cathedral is a masterpiece of Victorian Gothic architecture, designed by Sir George Gilbert Scott (1811-1878) and consecrated in 1879.
