Stockbridge Primary School

Dublin Core

Title

Stockbridge Primary School

Description

Designed by Robert Rowand Anderson, 1874-7, this is considered to be the best of the first generation Board Schools. Giant arches and gables build up to a slated fleche. A high-relief roundel of Education and her pupils adorns the chimney stack. The interior is lit by Anderson's characteristic rectangular top-lights. 2002 is the school's 125th anniversary.
