The Allotment Hut
Dublin Core
Title
The Allotment Hut
Description
In September 2010 Sutherland Hussey Architects were approached by Edinburgh Council with an invitation to design a small meeting hut for a new allotment site in Stockbridge on the edge of a desinated World Heritage Site. Opened in 2013 the hut, a wedge-shaped, single volume timber building, now serves as a meeting place for plot holders and outside groups run by India Place Allotment Association. It also serves to promote organic growing and a sustainable lifestyle within the wider community through events and open days.
