The Chancellor's Building was opened by HRH The Duke of Edinburgh, Chancellor of the University of Edinburgh, on 12 August 2002. The University's new Medical School provides a modern academic space for teaching and research with two large lecture theatres and a medical library together with research laboratories. Taking pride of place in the main entrance foyer is The Morton Tapestry by Alan Davie 'To a Celtic Spirit'.
