Bo'ness Apostolic Church
Dublin Core
Title
Bo'ness Apostolic Church
Description
Located beside the steep track of the School Brae that provides a slice through history, linking the historic town beside the harbour to the Victorian villas on the high ground, this church was built by the congregation in the 1950s. It was extended eastward in the 1970s and the old building used as a hall.
One of the features of the new church is a total immersion baptistery underneath the platform at the south end. The altar takes the form of a simple carpenter’s bench. As it is built into the hillside there is a lower floor, which houses a craft room with a loom for working on quilts.
