There has been a Durn House on this site since at least 1529 and probably beyond that, as there is 13^th-century medieval dootcot in the woodland adjacent to the house (part of the original estate).</p><p class="western">Bought by Mr and Mrs Scrudis, Durn House underwent a major restoration and refurbishment project lasting 6 years and now operates as a luxury guest house.
