Talk: Discover our Robert Burns Collection - Mitchell Library

Description

Join us for a fascinating talk about our about our world-renowned Robert Burns Collection by one of the Special Collections librarians.

When the library opened in 1877, one of the earliest decisions taken by the library committee was to form a Robert Burns Collection in memorial to the national bard. Over the years it has grown to over 5000 items and is believed to be the largest in the world. The collection includes rare and unique items including 15 original manuscripts of letters and poems, two copies of the Kilmarnock edition, translations, ephemera and artefacts.

Book by phone: 0141 287 2999 or in person at The Mitchell Library (Granville St reception).
