This building has played a central role in Glasgow's twentieth century history as the headquarters of the Glasgow City Police, from the tumultuous events of the 1914 "Battle of Glasgow" with the Suffragette movement (Emmeline Pankhurst was held here) and the 1919 "Battle of George Square" to the more day-to-day role of a district court room and recently as a filming destination for many historic dramas. The building will begin its renovation in late 2018 and this represents a chance to see it before this process begins.
