Edderton Old Parish Church

Dublin Core

Title

Edderton Old Parish Church

Description

Edderton Old Parish Church, Easter Ross, was built in its present external form in 1743.  It is quite unique in being little changed both internally and externally since 1821.  Recently re-appraised by Historic Scotland as "A-listed" - ie of national or international importance.  Within the graveyard stands the Edderton Cross Slab dating from the 9th century. Also on display is the Edderton Ark- a portable prefabricated pulpit used in the remoter areas of the Highlands in the 19th century.
