Description
One of Scotland's tallest land-based lighthouses, standing 41m high, with 203 steps to the top. Red and white striped tower with machicolated parapet walk around a domed lantern. The lighthouse was engineered by Robert Stevenson (grandfather of Robert Louis Stevenson) in 1830 and is operated and maintained by the Northern Lighthouse Board.
