Title

Macduff War Memorial, Macduff

Description

The War Memorial is a 70 foot high octagonal tower, with the names of the fallen cut into panels of Kemnay granite. Internally, the tower is divided into storeys with cement floors and a cement stair leading to the top. The work was carried out by 2 experienced Macduff masons, Alexander Brown, then aged 79 years, and Magnus Johnstone, then aged 68 years. The view from the top is excellent on a clear day. Climbing the tower is at your own risk and requires care.
