UHI Executive Office

Dublin Core

Title

UHI Executive Office

Description

The building opened as an infirmary in 1799 designed to help the poorest members of society. In 1930 the expanded hospital became the Royal Northern Infirmary. In 2003, UHI, the prospective university of the Highlands and Islands, bought the bulding, where UHI staff work in the former wards. The orginal ''lunatic cells'' contain one of the most sophisticated video conference suites in Scotland.
