The Mariners Home was built by Mr W King, Contractor & Builder, Houston in 1850 and opened in 1954. The front of the building ranging from 1500-1540 in a Tudor period of Gothic architecture.

Currently a Care Home for the elderly and specialist unit for Korsakoff mainly for retired seafarers but currently open to all.
