Title
Description
HMP Greenock was built between 1907 and 1910, taking its first prisoners on 28th August 1910. HMP Greenock provides accommodation for both short and long term offenders. There are three residential halls and two community integration units and has a maximum provision for 263 people. Whilst the prison will ensure safe custody for people during their period of imprisonment, the ultimate desire of the prison is to return people to their communities as citizens prepared to positively contribute. The prison operates in partnership with local and national partner organisations to offer a wide range of services designed to address offending behaviour.
