St Patrick's Roman Catholic Church
Dublin Core
Title
St Patrick's Roman Catholic Church
Description
A unique and striking example of the work of Antonio Coia (1935). A soaring gable characterises a church of great strength. A framework of steel is encased in reinforced concrete and enveloped in Lanarkshire brick with a backing of Scots Cement clay bricks. Exquisite stone sculpture by Archibald Dawson, including bas relief of Saint Patrick blessing a child, rising from between the two doors.
