St Mary's Churchyard & the Banff Aisle
Dublin Core
Title
St Mary's Churchyard & the Banff Aisle
Description
This atmospheric churchyard, with old trees and wonderful old monuments, is the heart of mediaeval Banff. All that is left of the ancient church, demolished in 1797, is the 16C Banff Aisle. Entered through a finely moulded doorway, this vaulted fragment retains a late-Gothic mullioned window, and a splendid wall-tomb of the Ogilvies. Within the last year, it has been carefully restored and made safe.
