Paisley - Paisley Arts Centre
Dublin Core
Title
Description
Built in 1738 and was a place of worship for almost 250 years. Today though, you're more likely to visit here to watch a gig, panto, play or stand-up show.
For Doors Open Days, Paisley Arts Centre will do what it does best by putting on a selection of arts, theatre and film activities for visitors, all with an animal theme!

Activities
On Saturday, children's theatre specialists Ipdip will put on two performances of 'Anonymouse' (11am & 1pm; a charming multi-sensory story about a shy little mouse who writes poems about living with the seasons as inspired by the book 'Walden', by Henry David Thoreau and the way little children explore the natural world. Tickets cost £2 (+booking fee) and booking is advisable.
Then on Sunday (12pm - 3pm), you'll be able to transform yourself into an animal of your choice with the help from talented local make up artist Rachel, who specialises in stage looks and special effects.
On both days there will be paper balloon making, 30-minute film screenings of the Aardman classic 'Creature Comforts' and British Sign language taster sessions from 11am - 1pm each day, where you'll learn how to sign a whole zoo's worth of aniamls! Oh and don't forget to take a fascinating tour of the graveyard outside too.
