There has been an Episcopalian presence in Paisley since 1817 when the congregation of Holy Trinity was founded. This building was erected and named Trinity Chapel in 1833 and extended in the 1880s. In 2003, the congregation of St Barnabas Church (on Castle Street) merged with that of Holy Trinity.
