Documentation can be found at http://github/MetsExport/ Gairdwill Fishing Lodge <p>Gairdwill Lodge is the only example of a restored fishing lodge in Shetland. During the 19th century huts like this provided the far haaf fishermen with accommodation close to their fishing grounds. This lodge was destroyed by the sea in the great storm of 1900 and lay untouched for 110 years. It has now been fully excavated, rebuilt and restored to how it may have looked at the end of the 19th century.
