Beannachar Camphill Community
Dublin Core
Title
Beannachar Camphill Community
Description
Originally called Banchory House it is in exactly the same style as Smith`s earlier extensions to Balmoral Castle and which earned him the nickname 'Tudor Johnny'. The house has associations with Prince Albert and in the late 19C it was the home of Sir David Stewart, a Lord Provost of Aberdeen. Today Beannachar is a Camphill community for young people with special needs based on the principles of the social philosopher Rudolf Steiner.
