Dalmoak Castle
Dublin Core
Title
Dalmoak Castle
Description
This castellated Gothic mansion house is currently a private nursing home. It features a five bay facade of coupled windows, corbelled battlemented parapets with a central tower rising behind. Tax rolls indicate there was a building on the site in 1421. The present building was requisitioned during WW2 when it was used as a 'Decoy Centre'. It has the largest stained glass windows in a domestic house in Scotland. (Renton slip road off A82 northbound, follow signs for Dumbarton.)
