Carmyllie Church
Dublin Core
Title
Carmyllie Church
Description
Carmyllie church is in its 528th year on this site and is a beautiful church with spectacular stained glass windows.
It also has a rich history with Rev Patrick Bell, minister of Carmyllie, who invented the reaper in 1828. He did not patent it so as to benefit all of agriculture. Ironically when the design was copied in America by McCormick, they patented it and the basis of the design is still used to this day in grain harvesting.
