The Engine Shop, a category A listed building, is the best example of Victorian shipyard architecture in Scotland. It was designed by J F Spencer for Alexander Stephens at Linthouse, Govan. It was dismantled in 1988 and reconstructed at Irvine in 1991. Owned by Scottish Maritime Museum.
