Description
Gala Mill is the most intact of the surviving mill complexes in Galashiels. The original mill was water powered but subsequently was converted to steam power; the mill chimney surviving as one of the few left in the town.
Since 1958 Schofield Dyers and Finishers have been based in the mill complex and continue to process fabrics for the weavers from both the UK and continental markets.
