Whilst the foundation of Coldingham Priory dates back to the 12th century, the current building was reconstructed in 1661 and altered in Victorian times. The remains of the priory have been consolidated and new interpretation added as part of a recent project funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, Historic Scotland and Scottish Borders Council working with the Friends of Coldingham Priory
