Dublin Core

Title

Halyrude Primary School

Description

Kingsland School. The school was designed for 600 pupils and cost 12,000 to build.

It was opened in 1901. In 1973 it was used as a model for the refurbishment of old primary schools for contemporary use; the cost was 90,000.

The school now has a roll of 75 pupils with 6 teachers and 6 support staff.

Following the recent alterations, which included the installation of double glazing, the school now delivers the Curriculum for Excellence within a building fit for 21st century but maintains the architectural integrity of the original Victorian School.
