The Weaving Shed was part of an important complex of buildings which provided employment for over 20,000 in the weaving, spinning, and knitwear industries. It stands behind the mill building latterly known as Ettrick and Yarrow spinners, 'the largest and finest' mill in all the Borders which was renovated in 2002 by Scottish Enterprise as a high-tech business centre. Immediately beside the Weaving Shed is one of the few remaining tall chimneys and immediately beyond this is the former Boiler House. It has now been renovated as the offices of Allied Surveyors. The last remaining derelict building on the site is the former Yarn Store.
