Title

Tower Mill

Description

Tower Mill was built in 1852 as a spinning mill. It is partly built on a segmental arch spanning over the Slitrig water. The mill was originally powered by a large cast iron water wheel, which remains in place as one of the largest in Southern Scotland. The mill and wheel are listed category A and lies within the boundary of the 'Heart of Hawick' Townscape Heritage Initiative.
